This past week was showcase week for us in ISM. We got to use the same presentation boards that we used for the Gallery Walk to present at the UNT campus in front of ISM students districtwide and parents, teachers, and other people that were there. I was able to give an explanation of my Original Work in front of many people who were eager to listen. This was a very cool experience for me as I was able to share my learning with people around me and officially transition towards the second semester. Friday was also an important day for me because I had my second meeting with Mr. Walker Young where he agreed to be my mentor and helped me create an idea for my final product. Mr. Young felt that my idea to have an analysis of his case was solid and added the fact that I should model it around explaining the appellate process. This way I can walk people through the process with a case as a guide while also presenting my knowledge of a case. This was exceptionally helpful and I am extremely thankful for Mr. Young’s willingness to work with me.
Goals for the coming week
This week I plan to begin work on the final product. I am hoping to create definitions for the difference between trial and appellate cases and also explain standards of review. I will also be reading through the case and trying to create an understanding of it.
