This past week in ISM we had our Gallery Walk event. This consisted of us putting up our poster boards in the main hallway of the school during lunch time, when this is a highly traveled area, and being prepared to present our research, original work, and topic as a whole for anyone who was interested or stopped by. This event had a very strong turnout with many peers, teachers, and other interested parties coming to learn about what we were doing. This helped us work on confident presenting skills, which had an emphasis on being concise as this was an elevator pitch style to try and engage an audience, as well as work on being prepared for the Showcase event in two weeks. The Showcase is very similarly structured and organized except instead of our peers who just happen to be walking by, it is our parents and others that we invite to listen. This Gallery Walk was also a great opportunity to reflect on all the work we have completed in the first semester of the program.
Goals for the coming week
This next week is a brainstorming week. I need to continue thinking about possible final products that I can complete in this second semester. I am thinking of writing a brief or doing something of that nature in order to reflect the learning and research I have done while presenting it in a real life product. I am hoping to meet with Walker Young again and will see what ideas and thoughts he possibly has about this.
